Day Centre

Day Opportunities centre is located on westen Road, Romford and managed by Medic2 UK Ltd. Medic2 UK LTD is an Organization, established in 2006, with head office in Basildon.

Medic2 UK is a recognized homecare agency with good reputation, currently providing domiciliary care with Essex County Council, Waltham Forest Council and Supported Living for london Borough of Bexley

Medic2 UK promotes a true passion to deliver the best for our Service Users, by having a person centred approach to our service delivery.

Medic2 day centre, providing a supervised day time, home from home centre for adults whose independence have lessened due to ageing, disability or illness.

Our beautiful environment is designed to makes it feel  like home.

Medi2 Day Opportunities is wheelchair accessible, with experienced, trained staff.

Befriending / Outreach

Medic2  aim to provide both centre based and community outreach support services, supporting the daily activities of service users from a physical, psychological, social, emotional and cultural perspective.

We pledge to provide services of high standard of care to meet the assessed needs of service users; to enable them exercise control and choice, be informed, stimulated, involved, make use of opportunities within their local community by offering an inclusive, dynamic and flexible environment in which a person is the centre (subject to risk assessment).

Experienced, highly trained staff will maintain privacy and dignity at all times while providing our services.

Our service will also offer as much support as required whilst promoting independence to achieve good quality of life and maintain healthy wellbeing.

We offer a caring, lovely and friendly atmosphere at the Centre, with a variety of activity opportunities to stimulate service users, as well as try and encourage people to chat and socialise.

Activities:

We have a full time activity co-ordinator, along with regular social entertainer and speaker every month.

Alzheimer’s and dementia care

Speciality in Dementia Care Mapping within our Adult Day Care Center, medic2 offers the Dementia Care Program. Individuals with Alzheimer’s disease early, middle, or late stages of cognitive impairment. In order to address the special needs of this population, our Dementia Care Program offers:  welcomed in early, middle, or late stages of cognitive impairment. In order to address the special needs of this population, our Dementia Care Program offers:

  • Electronic Wanderer Protection System
  • One to one supervision as needed
  • Individualized activities geared to the person’s interests and abilities
  • Activities designed to calm and reassure
  • Small group activities designed for individuals with dementia
  • Close communication with family or caregiver
  • Respectful, gentle management of anxiety
  • Supervised integration with other adult day care members to promote socialization, relationships, and enjoyment of shared interests
  • Educational materials for families and caregivers and twice-monthly Caregiver Support Group
  • Professional nursing and aide services with special trainings in dementia care

Meals / opening times

Medic2 Day Opportunities provides nutritious homemade meals, cooked from fresh on the premises.

Service user will have choice of hot & cold meals daily. They will be encouraged to choose from the daily menu any meal of their choice. Each choice will be sensitive to the service users dietary needs (if any). Meals include 2-course balance diet at affordable cost of £5  daily. Snacks, teas & coffee are available free throughout the day. Dietary needs are noted during assessment.

Center  opens from 8am to 4pm/ Monday to Friday

We operate our service in sessions (a session consist of 4 hours each)

Session 1 (from  8am to 12 noon)

Session 2  (from 1pm to 4pm)

Transportation

Medic2 day opportunity centre operate a good transportation system through the whole borough. With our own transport we provide, as and when required pick-up and drop-off facilities with a trained driver and an appropriate escort.
